The Forgetful Party
Welcome to the world of The Forgetful Party! Here's how to play:
Controls
- Main/Secondary click: Used to select ability then target unit
- Escape: Open menu to restart fight (a new ability will be forgotten)
Combat Basics
- Turn-Based: Battles unfold in turns. Your party and the enemies take turns performing actions.
- Unit Stats
- Aggro: Aggro determines how likely an enemy is to target a specific hero. (Read this as your highest aggro character will always be the first one to get hit)
- Defense: Directly reduce the damage you would receive (or deal)
- Attack/Magic: Will impact your ability damage
- Evasion: Chances to dodge an attack
- Positioning: Some abilities can only target specific positions, when an enemy die, they will be sent backward (or maybe the other enemies move forward...)
- Abilities: Each character has unique abilities. Abilities will use a % of the attack stat, or magic stat for damage. You can also see the hit chance. Even a 100% hit chance can fail on an enemy with some evasion.
Character Roles
- Graverobber: A balanced fighter with some healing capabilities.
- Woodcutter: A sturdy tank who protects the party by drawing enemy attacks.
- Steam Man: A powerful mage who can deal heavy damage and heal allies.
Winning and Losing
- Victory: Complete all the levels! (Spoiler: there's only 3 for now...)
- Defeat: If all your heroes are defeated, you lose the battle, however you can try the level again.
Tips
- Don't neglect healing! The Graverobber and Steam Man can keep your party alive.
- If a level looks impossible, just try again, you might be missing a core ability.
Good luck!
Know issues:
- Level 1-3 almost impossible: Didn't test enough, healing doesn't heal enough, and he's a bit too strong.
- Low level count: Had some last minutes bugs that prevented the creations of more levels, I'll add some post-jam.
- Missing ' characters: The font bugged with them, I had to remove them from the game.
- Active unit indicator placeholder art (yes the pink dot): You know how jams are...
- Hidden turn order and health progress bar: Planned to move them over the character, and.. well same as previous, lacked time.
